In this Issue: We have some general News from All Aboard, a Board Games Evening reminder
and New Games.
NEWS
Our first newsletter for 2011
We hope you have all had wonderful time over Christmas and spent time with your
loved ones and had a good break. Thank you to all our wonderful customers – many
of whom are now friends, for a great Xmas and New Year in the shop. We do love hearing
how people have enjoyed the gifts that were purchased at All Aboard.
New Shop Layout
We have had a change around in the shop in January and have opened up the ‘Games
area’ with a separate area for Children's Games. We still continue to stock lots
of special hands-on toys for children from birth up, however we have decided our
‘Specialty’ and point of difference is our fabulous range of Games, particularly
Children's and Family Games, with many strategy games from around the world and also
old favourites and traditional games.
We feel the new layout better reflects that. We have a range of opened Demo Games
in the shop for customers to look at and a table & stools if you can't resist trying
out a game before your purchases.
New Website
Graham and I have been re-writing the web site in January, to again better reflect
our specialty as a Games Shop. It should be easier to find games for children, family,
strategy games as each section is listed with different categories.
There is also an Educational link, as many of the games are useful for helping children
with maths, reading, social interaction, logical thinking and can be a great asset
in schools or at home to reinforce curriculum areas. Click on the 'Teachers' button
to search for different school ages and different curriculum areas.
Sale at the Shop
As we have some items that just don't fit in the new layout we are having a sale
of 20% – 50% off toys starting on Saturday 5th February for 1 week. Half-price items
include car floor mats, rag dolls, musical toys, novelties and many other items,
first in first served basis.

BOARD GAMES EVENING at the PUB
We have arranged with Dean to have the Games Evenings back at the Royal Hotel on
the 3rd Thursday of the month, so the next Games night will be on Thursday 17th February
2011.
We are able to have exclusive use of the Dining Room for the night. We will meet
from 6.30pm for those who would like a meal, order at the bar on the way in and purchase
drinks at the bar, then wander through to the Dining Room for fun, frivolity and
lots of games. Bring your favourites or play some of ours. All Welcome – we would
love to see you. Let us know if there is a particular game you would like to play
and we will try to have an opened copy.

New Games in Store
Glen More - excellent value at $59.90. Each player represents the leadership of
a 17th century Scottish clan looking to expand its territory and its wealth. The
success of your clan depends on your ability to make the correct decision at the
opportune time, be it by establishing a new pasture for your livestock, growing grain
for the production of whisky, selling your goods on the various markets, or investing
in the cultivation of special places such as lochs and castles. We have thoroughly
enjoyed playing this game over the past few weeks.
Poo: the card game - $19.90. Each player takes on the role of a monkey. You fling
poo and mess with each other until only one monkey is left standing. That monkey,
of course, is the cleanest one. Each turn, every player gets to draw and play a card,
usually either to fling poo at another player or to clean himself off. Out of turn,
each player gets to play cards to defend himself or foil other players’ poo flinging.
Lemming Mafia - $72.90. A quick and fun game of trying to get the Lemming's that
you need to fulfil your secret objectives to the finish line (or not) the correct
order.
Fabula - $72.90. Fabula is a storytelling game that will set your imagination soaring!
One player acts as the Writer who reads the intro to one of 20 scenarios. Each other
player incarnates a hero (a gnome, a princess, a little boy, etc.) who tries to be
the main character of the teller's dream. 3 times during the game, the teller asks
the other players how they think things happened at that time of the story. They
must choose an item depicted on one of the cards laying at the center of the table
and use it to continue the story. Depending on how convincing they are to the teller,
they get points or not; if they do, the next players must continue using this plot.
If they don't, the item they used must never be spoken about by anyone for the rest
of the game.
Piece o' Cake - $59.90. Everyone knows the cake rules: one person cuts, the other
chooses. In this way, one makes the slices as equal as possible so that one does
not end up with the short end. But this rule does not apply to piece o' Cake. Here
a person can cleverly offer larger pieces to the others and still get the most in
the end. 5 cakes with 11 slices of different varieties are divided.
It Happens - $49.90. Anton, the adventurous anteater, is out looking for food. Nosy
as Anton is, he sticks his long nose into every termite hill he comes across, and
it’s not just edible things that he turns up either. His main objective, however,
is the termite queen and her general. They earn the most points at the end.
Also Sobek $49.90, Six Strategy Game $32.90, Two by Two $79.90, Trio Vision $22.90,
Unikato $22.90 and Yikerz $32.90 - this one is a lot of magnetic fun.
Age of Conan – new low price of $72.90. Please ask if you are interested, as we have
not put this on the web site yet - we quickly sold out of the first shipment.
