NEWS

Christmas is coming!

Yes it’s true that Christmas is only a few weeks away and now is a great time to be organised. Our new stock is in store, ready for your Christmas shopping.

We have some of our favourite, exciting children’s games in from Haba, who are one of the premier German games manufacturers. Voila wooden puzzles and beautiful Djeco craft sets from France are now here. We have an exciting selection of Smart Games Travel Puzzles and Alamein Stamp sets with princesses, numbers and farm animals among the different styles.

You can also Layby for Christmas to ensure that we put aside the games and toys that you really want. It’s always disappointing to find that you have made up the shopping list and half of the items are no longer available.

Remember that we are happy to order larger items in for you with just a 20% deposit. We have lots of catalogues with wonderful products such as wooden castles, dolls houses, garages and table & chair sets, to name a few.

Games Evening Christmas Breakup Night

Please put Thursday 15th December in your diaries if you are coming to our last games evening of the year. At present this will be a fun night of party games and order your own food. We are not able to get a special Christmas menu unless we can guarantee at least 40 participants. We will discuss options with those who come to our next games evening this Thursday.

BOARD GAMES EVENING at the PUB

Our next Games Night will be on Thursday 17th November at the Royal Hotel. We will be in the Dining Room from 6.30pm for a meal and then start playing games from 7.00pm and then continue until about 10.30 – 11.00ish.

There will be plenty of games available to try out or bring your own favourite games. People are friendly and welcoming and willing to help with rules. Come along and join the fun. All Welcome!

Since the General Election is almost upon us, we thought that we would get in some voting practice by playing games that involve politics and/or voting. Examples of these are Lifeboats - vote on which boat to move and who to throw out of a sinking boat, Mall of Horror - vote on who to sacrifice to the Zombies and Quo Vadis - negotiate to get support to move toward the Roman Senate. I think we could finish the evening practicing our “bluffing” detection with a game of Liars Dice.
